What is the Optic Belt?
The Optic Belt is an innovative product that solves 4 problems that affects anyone who wears a pair of Binoculars or camera around the neck. The Optic Belt solves the following problems:
- • Neck strain and fatigue caused by traditional neck straps
- • Unrestrained optics hitting yourself and other objects
- • Dust and moisture on ocular Binocular lenses
- • Bulky clothing interfering with archery equipment
What other features does the Optic Belt Have?
The Optic belt comes with a built in rifle cartridge holder that holds up to six bullets of any caliber size. It will securely hold a .17 cal. Cartridge up to a 12 gauge shotgun shell. Because the bullets are carried around your torso and not on your waist, the movement of your legs and hips will not cause the bullet to be pushed out of the Optic Belt or lost.
The Optic Belt also comes with 2 built in loops which are for hanging miscellaneous accessories such as lenses cleaners, compass or wind checkers.
What is the Optic Belt made from?
The Optic Belt is made from a durable elastic which is fastened to a quick release buckle. The main component of the Optic Belt is a material called Shark Skin neoprene which is about 3 mm think. The Shark skin Neoprene is 100% water proof and has been field tested in Alaska, Washington and Oregon. It also protects your Ocular lenses from other mis-haps while drinking or eating.
How does the Optic Belt attach to my binoculars?
The great feature about the Optic Belt is that there are no noisy fasteners, zippers, buckles or Velcro to contend with. By friction, the gripping action of the Shark Skin neoprene holds your optics secure at any position on your torso. Because there is no fabric touching the lenses your optics will be free from lint or micro-fleece that may occur while using other products. These tiny particles over time can creep into the internal working of your binoculars and cause damage.
Are there different sizes to fit different size bodies?
No, one size fits all! The Optic Belt is fully adjustable to fit small kids and full size adults. If you purchase an Optic Belt and it does not fit Del Norte Outdoors will return your money!
Does it fit all types of binoculars?
It works well on all binoculars 10 x 50 and smaller. If the protective flap seems to long for very small binoculars then simple trim the flap to your desired length. The Optic Belt will still work on larger 15 x 60 style binoculars. Depending where you position the Optic Belt on your optics, the protective flap maybe a little short but the Optic Belt will still eliminate neck fatigue and secure your optics.
Will the Optic Belt work with the various shoulder harness systems that are on the market today such as the Crooked Horn “Slide and Flex” system or is it only for traditional neck straps only?
The Optic Belt is a great compliment to any of the various shoulder type harness system. These systems were designed to eliminate next strain which they effectively do. On many of these systems after a year or more of heavy use the elastic loses its memory and will elongate causing your optics to now start bouncing and swing much more than when the Shoulder Harness Systems elastic was new. The Optic Belt will prolong the useful life of these type systems as well as provide you with the added features that the Optic Belt has to offer.
After using the Optic Belt many users have returned to a traditional neck strap because the Optic Belt eliminates neck strain that occurs while using the even the most comfortable padded neck straps that are on the market today.
Can the Optic Belt be used on other equipment such as a video Camera?
Yes, the Optic Belt can be used on a variety of devices. Any thing that hangs from your neck is a possible candidate.
Why should I buy an Optic Belt?
Because the Optic Belt truly works in a variety of applications and is simple and easy to use! Our motto is, “Simple is Better” & “Don’t start your next adventure without one”.
